Blackjack Essential Basics - Part One

The main premise of the card game is to be handed cards totaling up to 21. Each competitor is assigned two cards. When a player is handed a 9 or lower value card and an Ace they have been given a soft hand. When the blackjack player is dealt no Ace cards it is called as a hard hand. Once the cards have been given to all players at the table, which includes the dealer, every player is provided the opportunity to make 1 of 6 actions:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a player announces hit me the dealer will deal them another card, if the addition of that card makes the total greater than twenty-one the black jack player will have busted and be excluded from the game, if the card makes the total to twenty one the player wins and if the value of the hand has not yet reached twenty-one they're still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been dealt: If a black jack player is happy with the hand they will hold. Once this has happened the dealer will show his or her hand and the black jack player who has accumulated twenty one or the nearest to twenty-one will win.

Doubling Down: A blackjack player might ask to double down which increases the wager by 100% they have made. As soon as you've taken this action you can only receive one more card. The specifics of doubling down are normally specified by the blackjack table or betting house game rules so prior to competing make sure you are at ease with the house game rules. If you're wagering at a web-based betting house this is normally quite simple.
